Our experience there
If you want a classic North Country experience that strikes the perfect balance between rustic Vermont charm and serious variety, Sugarbush is top-tier. Spread across two distinct peaks—Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen—this mountain offers everything from wide-open family cruisers to legendary, narrow, old-school glades. Castlerock Peak is an absolute dream for advanced skiers looking for natural, un-groomed terrain that will challenge your legs. The village at Lincoln Peak has great dining options, and the overall vibe is high-end without feeling too corporate. Just keep in mind that getting between Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen takes a long ride on the Slide Brook Express, and ticket prices can get steep on high-demand weekends.
Where to stay
Warren and Waitsfield offer valley inns and dining; Lincoln Peak has slopeside options.
