Our experience there
In our opinion, Mount Snow is one of the absolute best southern Vermont choices for intermediate cruisers, park riders, and families. Because it is one of the closest major resorts to Boston and NYC, it gets hit pretty hard with weekend crowds, but the lift infrastructure—especially the Bluebird Express bubble chair at the main base—does a fantastic job keeping lines moving. The mountain is split into four distinct faces. The Main Face is a dream if you love long, wide-open groomers, while the North Face gives advanced skiers steep, ungroomed double-blacks like Ripcord. On sunny days, Sunbrook is the spot to lap scenic blue runs with fewer crowds. Plus, if you are into freestyle, Carinthia Parks is hands-down one of the absolute best terrain park setups in the entire East. The main trade-offs are the heavy weekend traffic and high Epic Pass crowds, but their powerful snowmaking team keeps coverage solid even when the weather fluctuates.
